Toast & Co. takes orders three separate ways - a self-order kiosk, a QR code at the table, and directly inside a WhatsApp chat - and each one sends order data in its own shape. This automation is the layer none of those three individually needed to know about: it normalizes every order into one format, assigns a single running queue number across all three channels, and routes each order to the right place, a table display for dine-in, the pickup counter for takeaway, so the kitchen watches one queue instead of three.
