PayNiyo's transaction ledger backs up every night to encrypted cold storage - but a backup nobody verifies is just a file that might be useless when it's actually needed. This automation checks the backup's checksum against the source the moment the job finishes, retries automatically on a mismatch, and pages the on-call engineer if that retry also fails - instead of everyone finding out a backup was silently broken only when they go to restore from it.
